BYOND 4.0 Version 499 Release Notes
This is a major release, including a huge update to the pager and the addition of a new splash screen to Dream Seeker.
Fixes (More Info)
BYOND Pager
- The new 499+ pager system has refined alert messages. (Avainer1)
Dream Seeker
- Inserting a frame from one icon into another could cause bogus results in some cases. (SuperAntx)
Dream Daemon
- Directory changes from within the interface could change the location of server-based savefiles. (Carnwennan)
Dream Maker
- Compilation was sometimes causing the display of line numbers to be toggled off (weird!) (Alathon)
- Games with lots of objects could crash DM during the object-tree generation. (ThVortex)
Features (More Info)
BYOND Pager
- The pager has been almost completely overhauled with a much improved user interface, better responsiveness to pager messages, and some new features such as the Feed. The new version is more colorful, intuitive, and chat-friendly than before.
- Mass pages have been replaced with the Feed, a way to update fans of you and/or your games about events like new live servers, a game you're playing and enjoying now, and more.
Dream Seeker
- A splash screen has been added when joining games, which will display an ad for non-Members and BYOND Members who choose to leave ads enabled. This helps BYOND pay the bills! You can help further by becoming a BYOND Member. Resources will download in the background while ads play, so there won't be any double-waiting.
Dream Maker
- DM now uses a second thread for compile & update operations, so that you can continue working in the foreground; the process can be aborted with a new button on the UI. Note: maps cannot be edited while compilation/update is in progress.
- In DreamMaker, libraries are now (again) sorted by the author name.
- The object tree now has an option to lookup a node by path or partial path (eg, inputting "tr" will find things like /turf/tree; inputting "/turf/tree will only return that).
- The object tree has an option to collapse all nodes.
